A Private Survey

Please answer all questions thoroughly. Our Psychology experiment is dependant on it! Results will be posted in Room 311 on Friday. Please attach a picture and return to Taylor Moore when finished. I promise this all relates! Thanks!

Name: Lucy Shapiro

Brief Background: Adam and I (we’re twins, exhilarating, I know) were born in Connecticut and raised Jewish. Somehow we survived public school through eighth grade, but then my parents (or grandparents, rather) thought it would be better for us to continue our education in a finer institution than Englewood High, and so now we’re here. I tutor those in need.

Friends: Allyson (Ally) King is my best friend at Wycliffe, although Daniel (Denny) Barnes has climbed up the charts as well. Of course, Adam and I are extremely close as well, inseparable.

Enemies: Remind me again why I agreed to fill this out? If you must know, the demonic Gwenneth (Gwen) Sinclair and her minion Nicolette Baxter would fall into this category.

What Animal Best Describes You? I would have to say an ocelot – small (I’m only 5’4”), territorial (Have you ever tried messing with the people I love?), and endangered (They try to beat people like me out of this place).

What Would Be Your Perfect Date? Probably just staying in, lying low. No need to go out and do something fancy all of the time, although once and a while would be nice.

If It Was the End of the World, What Would You Say? I would be trying to convince the aliens taking over the planet to stop and go back to their own galaxy. Oh dear God, all of Adam’s middle school sci-fi fascination is catching up with me.

Strengths and Weaknesses? Strengths: loyal, passionate, intelligent, protective; Weaknesses: loquacious, blunt, bitter, insecure

If You Could Change One Thing About Yourself, What Would It Be? I suppose I could try to be less vengeful.

Additional Comments: Taylor, if I remember correctly from the reading we did for homework last week, surveys are supposed to be anonymous. You might want to fix that before Ms. P sees
. Also, you could read my story, found here. Interesting quiz, can't tell what you're studying, but really, Taylor, revise this without the name slot. Seriously.

Babbling #1

Get to Know Us! *waits for laughter to stop* No seriously....

Elana: WELCOME!
Jenn: Hi!
Elana: We are so excited that you're reading our blog!
Jenn: (this is weird lol)
Elana: (a bit XD)
Jenn: And so glad we didn't have to resort to paying you to read our blog! At least not yet anyway lol
Elana: *high five* So thank you for reading out of the goodness of your hearts! For entertainment! Out of boredom! Whatever your reasons, thanks! We've been writing and roleplaying together for...geeze, how long has it been now?
Jenn: I think 2006 but back then was mainly Harry Potter stuff...ah the memories
Elana: Aaaaaaaaaaah Dang. We rock XD That's three - almost four - years of greatness. And a lot of stuff has accumulated over that time. Hence...THE CLOSET.
Jenn: yep yep
Elana: It's quite magical ^^
Jenn: Maybe we should explain that a bit more as not everyone understands us and just think we're plain weird
Elana: We are NOT weird! Well...not too much
Jenn: *pats* sure Elana, whatever makes you feel better about yourself I, however, will admit to being weird because in my book weirdness means unique which means we're Aw-wait for it and it's not just a few it's-Some
(We're also big fans of How I Met Your Mother, btw.)
Elana: That is lovely my dear. And this blog is going to be legen - wait for it - dary! So, roleplay...It's super cool. No lie.
Jenn: We still haven't talked about the origin of the closet!
Elana: ...oh dear, it feels like it's always been there!
Jenn: just to rewind because we keep getting off subject (sometimes I don't even know where we are lol)
Elana: (this happens a lot XD)
Jenn: After we roleplay, we always joke that we put our characters away until next time, I think we "put" them in my cabinet at first right?
Elana: Oh right! Since that's where Sirius still lives!
Jenn: I think Sirius is still in there
Elana: Great minds, great minds. But that cabinet couldn't hold so many people.
Jenn: after all we each have...I would say over 20 characters each by now
Elana: Sounds about right. Again, we rock. So we found a larger storage space that could lock...which happened to be a magnificent closet!
Jenn: yep yep, and of course as we slowly moved onto our own original storylines which usually pop up every month or so, we make new characters and stuff THEM into the closet too
Elana: It ended up being quite cramped and stuffy in there, and whenever we opened it up there was a riot. Cranky characters *shakes head sadly* So, after a long discussion...we decided to free them. Mind you, they're still at our beck and call whenever we need them. They just get to stretch their legs a bit more.
Jenn: and we've decided to share them with you all! As long as you remember to return them of course
Elana: We did create most, after all. It's simple common courtesy to give them back.
Jenn: So there you have it! The history and origin of the Unlocked Closet! Not exactly the Big Bang or anything but hey that's just how it happened
and hopefully you'll be able to enjoy all these characters as much as we did
Elana: Agreed! Also, remember that these are works in progress. Any comments you have about them are welcome! Enjoy!

And with that...we bid you good day! Until next week!

Royal Ramblings

Once Upon A Time there was a –

Seriously? Are we really going through this again? Don’t you think the whole “Once upon a time” thing is starting to get a little old?

First off, it isn’t ‘Once upon a time’ it’s ‘Once Upon A Time. Get it right. Secondly, this is how most proper fairy tales start. I wouldn’t know how to start it any other way.

Okay, what makes you think that my story is going to be a proper fairy tale? I mean, look at me. Do I look like a proper princess to you?

Er, well no. But –

So why I would want my story told like the others? Sitting around, singing as I wait for my prince to come? No thank you. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that men are always late. And time’s ticking mister - er ma’me, giant narrator voice person. You may not know how to start off the story but I do.

Are you firing me?

Well, I was actually only going to suggest you take a break as my story probably won’t take that long…but what the hell sure. You’re fired. Go do some radio commercials or something.

Fine! I don’t need to be here anyway! I have loads of places that need me! Proper princes and princess who wait for months for me to help them with their story. But no…I only came here as a favor to your mother and this is the thanks I get? Next time I oughta tell her where to shove her golden roses…

So now that she’s finally gone, where were we? Oh right, I’m Rosaline Kingston, Princess Rosaline Daniella Kingston actually but you can call me Rosy. Everyone does, except for my mother who claims the name Rosy is too plain. But I like it and that’s what I want everyone to call me, you hear that Mother?

Where was I? Right, a princess. So yes, I’m a princess and my parents own a kingdom. But before you get all high pitched and excited I should warn you that our kingdom is much smaller then other kingdoms. The smallest actually. Okay, it would probably only take you twenty minutes to reach each side but it’s still a kingdom nevertheless!

I guess you can already tell I’m not exactly your typical princess so we can skip all those informalities. If you haven’t guessed it…then yeah I’m not. I don’t sew, I don’t sing, don’t ask me to cook (unless what you want to eat is boiled water, then I’m your girl!), and animals tend to bite me. A lot.

But the most important thing is that I don’t wait for my prince to come. I go searching for him. And fight for him when I find him. Especially when my stupid cousin Christina tries to get her claws into him. Because I know, as well as any other woman out there, royalty or not, that if you find such a perfect guy, you’ve got to do all you can to keep him. Even okay ones are pretty rare. Talk about a needle in the haystack. Try field of hay.

But the funny thing is, even though I’m not a typical princess…in the end, I still achieved my happily ever after. Even though sometimes it feels like I’m just settling. Especially when he starts to drive my nerves by calling me Rosaline to annoy me, but overall we’re happy. I guess when it comes down to it, as long as you strive to be happy you can be. Princess or not.

But if you would, read my story so my mother could be happy. She still hopes that I would become a great princess someday. I don’t want to disappoint her so I often pay people to come and pretend to ask about my story. But…the bills do tend to pile up after a while and keeping up a castle ain’t easy you know.

To help out Rosy, read her story

Meet the Cast: Stolen Promises

Jenn and Elana let the characters run loose to introduce their story.

Alec: So how should we start this?
Gavin: Er, at the beginning would be good.
Alec: Well hell, of course I knew that. I just meant -
Gavin: You should have been more specific then, after all -
Tory: Oh hush it both of you! Men. They can’t even do a simple thing as tell a story. Jo, why don’t you start it off?
Jo: Alright then, my story began -
Tory: Our, Jo, our story!
Jo: Right, dear, so sorry. Our story began one fateful day when I was just minding my own business at home doing some embroidery for our mother’s birthday and...Oh, dear God Tory we’ve forgotten to give it to her for her birthday. Do you think she’d be terribly angry with us? Of course she would –
Tory: We were kidnapped Jo, I think she’d probably forgive us. Just go on with the story.
Alex: Yes, while we’re still young.
Tory: At least two of us. There’s no more hope for you two.
Alex: Are you talking about us?
Tory: Course I am. You don’t see anyone else around here with those Highlander wrinkles do you?
Alex: But –
Gavin: JO! The story please!
Jo: Hmm, so anyway, I was spending the day at home when I received a letter from the king ordering me to Scotland and marry a laird. Politics. So I had to pack that morning, leave that afternoon...
Tory: And then I saved the day.
Jo: Or made things worst as we escaped the guards and got lost…
Tory: Huh. Well, next time I’ll just leave you alone.
Jo: Not that I'm not grateful! I would've done anything to get out of marrying that laird. But things became more complicated as we were soon found by loathesome barbarians -
Gavin: Who are you calling a barbarian, woman?
Jo: Well, of course I didn’t mean…
Tory: Believe me, when you first met, she called you much worse.
Gavin: Interesting. So I rescue you from the woods and saved you from certain death and I’m still called a barbarian? Or even worse?
Alec: Don’t forget I helped. And Jo, a simple thank you would suffice. Without us, you would've been found by the Boswells and that wouldn't have ended well...
Jo: All right, all right. Thank you!
Tory: Whatever. We would've been just fine, don't give them the satisfaction!
Alex: Wait a minute…Tory aren’t you supposed to be mute?
Tory: Er…say what?
Gavin: Since you obviously cannot continue the story truthfully I think I should take over. After much searching for the Boswell bastards, Alec and I soon stumbled upon the girls. We…picked them up and brought them back to my keep.
Jo: Kidnapped. The word is kidnapped.
Tory: Although it was an interesting ride.
Jo: I don’t want to talk about it.
Gavin: You would've escaped, I just did what I had to do.
Jo: What you did was extremely rude.
Gavin: I can't believe you're still complaining about that. I’ve already apologized. And we’re already mar -
Jo: SPOILER ALERT!
Tory: I know right? Gee don’t go spoiling it for everyone now!
Alec: You're supposed to be mute!
Tory: Oh, be quiet, you know that doesn't last long.
Gavin: Unfortunately not.
Tory: Hey!
Jo: Well, I suppose we should end it now before we let them know all of our secrets. Goodbye and we hope you’ll enjoy the rest of our adventure!

High school. Is there anything worse?

Only when you're trying to get through life while attending Wycliffe Heights Academy, one of the richest, most prestigious private schools in the United States. And by prestigious, it usually means that no matter what the students at Wycliffe Heights do, it will never spread to the press or their permanent records. The unofficial rule is that the more money your family donates to the school the more they turn a blind eye to your antics.

So it's understandable that the leaders of the school are the children of the obscenely wealthy. Imagine stuck up cheerleaders and jocks with no rules or punishments restraining them and unlimited money at their fingertips. They cater to no one and look down at everyone. This is especially bad news for students who are not of the elite, born with a diamond pacifier in mouth.

But there are a rare few at the school who were born with regular plastic toys in their hands. And a few even rarer ones who won't abide by the rules of the rich and privileged. No matter what happens.

High school...is about to get interesting.
